When you come home super duper tired from uni all that you could ask for is a big vegan feast delivered at your door the moment you enter your flat – am I right?
I was lucky enough to give Deliveroo a go a couple of times last week. I was SO excited when they started delivering in Valencia because, to be honest, you can never have to many take out apps in your phone. Especially when you’re as lazy as me!
It was so pleasing to discover the amount of vegan/vegetarian choices available. Unlike most take-out apps I have tried, Deliveroo actually features fancy (yet still affordable) restaurants, which means there are lots of healthier plant-based options if you don’t feel like over-dosing on greasy pad thai (which, by the way, is still a bomb option and for the record is what I’m doing on Wednesday #blessudeliveroo).
I had my pals over for lunch twice last week and you bet we overdosed on alllllllll the good vegan food. Hamburgers? Check! Falafel wraps? Aw yes! Veggie croquettes? As much as you want! Spreads, dips and all the hummus? GIVE THEM TO ME! And dessert? YES MATE, WE WANT DESSERT.
It’s hard to say whether I’m more happy with the quality of the food (I mean, look at those chips!!!) or the fabulous service overall. I don’t know about you, but I’ve had quite my fair share of not-too-great experiences when ordering food, so I was more than content with the way that Deliveroo drivers are always on time, even calling you right before tehy’re going to drop your food off. Bonus points for the fact that you can select the exact time when you want to have your food delivered (aka right after you come home from uni RAVENOUS!) and have it actually delivered at that time.
I. Am. In. Love. Guys.
But also burgers!!!! Veggie burgers!!!! How awesome are they? This bean quinoa burger totally hit the spot. So tasty, so juicy and so zesty! It was heavenly paired with the homemade bread and the veggie-nut spreads. Also, those croquettes over there? Yeah, look up the definition of delicious in a dictionary and you’ll find a picture of them. My non-vegan friends totally went bananas for them. Speaking of bananas but not quite: that dessert. Oh My. OH MY – GUYS. Dulce de leche mille-feuille with raspberry coulis. How gorgeous does that sound? Oh well, it tasted every but as delicious as it looks!
The second day we decided to go for a middle-eastern themed feast and, let me tell you, it was every bit as lovely as the first one. Falafels, baba ganoush, thyme sesame rolls, spiced fries, flatbreads… you name it. All delish and so cheap too! I was particulary in love with the falafel roll (because I’m a falafel addict like that), but everything was out-of-this-world amazing.
Again, the service was hard to beat and I was smitten by how wonderfully packaged everything was (we’re talking biodegradable packaging YES!!!!).
Never switching to other apps, I’m telling you!
