If I had a dollar for every time I’ve accidentally hurt myself while cooking, I’d probably be able to afford living on fresh organic berries and fancy bread loaves by now. But no dollars, why do I get instead? A cut in my finger and an hour spent over all the blood shed (because I’m a baby like that).
Would you guys believe that I cut myself… with a box of frozen raspberries? Not a knife, not a pair of scissors, not a steaming-hot oven – a bloody (get it?) raspberry box. I bet I’ve broken the stupidest person world record or something. Do I get some dollars for that or…? Because I really, really like organic berries. And peaches, while we’re at it.
Do you know what else I’m obsessed with?
What else, when it’s like a thousand degrees outside? Seriously this heatwave is so going to be the end of me. Bring on all the iced tea AND all the smoothies!!!!!!!!!
Did you guys know that if you sub the water/mylk in your smoothie with iced tea it comes out even more delicious? I had never thought of giving it a go, although I must say it’s a pretty good idea and people probably have been doing so for years (let’s blame my fried neurones for that, shall we). Well, the result is an epic, super delicious smoothie with an extra healthy boost depending on which tea you’re using.
I think I have already told you about Fruiteatox Lemon Ginger tea and how much I love it. First of all it’s all natural with no weird (and hurtful) ingredients and it also happens to be vegan (yay!). As you know I’m not a fan of detoxes as I prefer to rely on a healthy diet full of plant foods, water and sufficient sleep to do its job. But you know, sometimes music fests, sleepless nights and deliciously greasy vegan burgers happen and, although these are super fun times, one can’t help but feeling a bit tired!
I’ve been enjoying a glass of ice-cold lemon ginger tea lately with my breakfast to get my defenses back to normal (because, apparently, my defenses don’t like living on bbq pizza UGH) and it’s working wonders. No weird stuff at all, simply natural goodness – just how I like it!
And the flavour is absolutely delightful too! Lemon, a touch of fennel and a hint of ginger. Holy moly this combo is brilliant and it works so well in your smoothies (and also oatmeal if you’re living in a colder climate at the moment).
If you’re interested it getting some lemony pie goodness for yourself, make sure you use the code “IG20” for a 20% discount when in the checkout at www.fruiteatox.com. And please, give this smoothie a go! You won’t regret it!
