If there’s anything good about finals season (and that’s be what we’d call a stretch, because it actually pains my heart to write “finals” and “good” in the same sentence y’know) it has to be the fact that come this time of the year is actually acceptable to walk around on your pyjammas. Messy hair, seven different kind of bags under your eyes and a constant look of despair in your face. Plus a never-ending stream of tears running down your face and let’s not forget the scent of coffee in your clothes.
Not that I dig looking like a poor, tormented soul all the darn time but you get me, it’s nice to see that you’re not the only one who’s about to be murdered by finals. And they say that uni years are the most fun hahaHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA.
Best years ever MY BOOTIE. I got actually excited that I was getting seven hours of sleep last night and a warm meal for lunch today. Like, crying of happiness kind of excited I’m telling you. That’s how glamourous uni life is. The past few days have been all about eating cold rice straight out of a tupperware while sitting on the kitchen floor and getting close to none sleep. Someone call the health police because this gal is about to get her health-foodie card removed.
I should probably just try to get some more sleep and do some actual meal-planning so I don’t end up living on toast and cold rice you know. Although if we’re going to be 100% honest with each other, I do think that rice and I are meant for each other. I ship us. The moment I’m done with finals is the moment I start planning the wedding. Gotta start a Pinterest board or something because I definitely want to get some of those cute blue mason jars with flowers and stuff.
Also, while we’re still on this “looking homeless all the time” topic, note that walking around in such attire is only ever acceptable in the streets surrounding the university. You get weird stares if you try that downtown #beentheredonethat.
But let’s cut out the negativity on here and let’s focus on what’s good about this time of the year. I’d go and say that the weather is pretty nice. I mean, who doesn’t like slightly warm, sunny days when you can wear whatever and it’s alright because it’s not too cold, not too hot out there? Too bad I actually have to spend them all sitting on the library crammin’ all that revision but, as I said before: let’s focus on the good and THE BEST.
Best part about this gorgeous warm weather we’ve been enjoying lately? Obviously being able to enjoy refreshing smoothie bowls all day errrr day I’d say!
Now that mangoes are slowly coming back in season (and with them my joie de vivre) and fresh berries aren’t outrageously expensive, it’s time to spend those 5 minutes of free time you’re going to get in the kitchen, blending up some berry fruity goodness.
Creamy, refreshing and energising: it’s hard to think of a better breakfast to have when you’re short on time and lacking energy to smash those 6 exams you still have left. Seriously though. It’s a smoothie which tastes like a bowl of sorbet. Talk about winning on life!!!!
