There’s nothing quite like a big bowl of creamy strawberry smoothie topped with ALL the fixings to supercharge your mornings. Am I righttttt?
Actually having some free time to sleep like a normal human being amidst all the midterms/finals madness would be nice too. Also, a nap. Or twenty-seven. And having time to prepare meals which are different from my now usual PBJ toast or rice salad would be lovely too, I’d say.
For the record we get one week of “””””””””rest”””””””””” from the end of midterms until finals actually begin !!!! please, scream with me !!!!!!! ). Like, the only five minutes of free time I got today were spent to go peeing (TMI? Is that TMI if we consider everyone has to pee? Am I being just weird? Is my sick-of-exams mind playing with me?), how miserable is that?
For the record number two, let me add that I actually had to walk home to go peeing because I’m special like that and I can’t do public bathrooms. What does that have to do with smoothie bowls you say? Are you okay homegurl? Can someone bring this girl a nap and a warm meal??????????????????????????????????
Sorry about that, my pals. I’m a bit too tired to think straight after all the craziness and hecticness of the past few weeks (and still +1 month to go phewww) and it’s safe to say that this lil’ brain of mine isn’t thinking straight. But at least I’m strong enough not to fall sleep in front of the screen right now and upload a new smoothie bowl recipe! Which, if I may say so myself, is quite a fabulous one.
A bowl of wholesomess which totally tastes like strawberry mousse? Is this real life or just a pretty magic fantasy? Does this bowl even exist? Or are your minds also playing tricks with you?
Fear not: this smoothie bowl is as real as it gets! Frozen strawberries and creamy almond butter give this bowl a creamy dreamy texture, while a good dose of coconut sugar and vanilla flavoured protein (always plant-protein please!) make this SO sweet.
But sweet in a nice way, not in a “I can feel this thing giving me thirty-three cavities” way.
The good kind of sweet. The one which makes you feel happy and energised to conquer your days.
Even if your days are all about studying, almost falling asleep during lectures and not getting to watch Game of Thrones on time.
I’m getting a bit tad tired of the student life I’m telling you.
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen strawberry chunks
- 2 tbsp. almond butter
- 2 tbsp. vanilla pea protein powder
- 360 ml. (1+1/2 cup) almond milk
- 2-3 tbsp. coconut sugar
- Blend all the ingredients together until smooth.
- Add more milk if you want a thinner smoothie and more frozen strawberries if you'd want a thicker smoothie!
