I still cannot believe this is the first time I’ve ever posted a green smoothie recipe. Like, for real, I’ve been writing this blog for almost TWO WHOLE YEARS now (c’mon blogiversary, hurry up so I can make up a excuse for cake!!!) and I’d never ever ever thought of uploading a recipe for one of these babies.
How is that possible???
I mean, they’re delicious, they’re nutritious and they make you feel like you’re actually nailing this whole being a healthy individual thingy… even if the truth is that you’ve spent the last three days on your jammies, eating toast because you’re too lazy to make real food and binge-watching Friends since watching GoT for the 273832th time seems a bit obessive… Then why is this my first post about them??
Aaaaaaaanyway, I’m quite happy that I got to share this with you! Sweet, creamy and refreshing: this is such a delicious snack now that the weather’s getting hotter than… say Pedro Pascal (aka so hot that you’re going to need seven bowls of this, so take note my friends!)
And the flavor combo? Oh boy, is it awesome! Banana, mango, pineapple and a bit of coconut milk to make you feel like you’re in a tropical island soaking the sun… even if you’re actually sitting in a dark room crying because of the huge amount of physics homework you should have done by now #whoops.
Add in some spinach and barley grass powder for some green goodness and you’re good to go! Delicious AND good for you! Have you guys ever tried barley grass powder? That stuff is amazing! It’s full of vitamins and minerals, and also rich in chlorophyll, which is known to be a great natural detoxifier. Could you ask for more?
I get mine from Creative Nature Superfoods and I couldn’t be happier with it! The flavour isn’t so strong that it overpowers the rest of ingredients in my smoothie (you go tropical flavour!!), and the price is actually fantastic! I cannot recommend this brand enough – all their products are ethically sourced, good for the enviroment and they taste great! You guys should check them out if you haven’t yet!
Now excuse me while I go make myself another green smoothie… you know, to make up for the fact that I’ve been living on weetabix for the past two weeks. Ah, I’d blame exams for the fact that I haven’t gone grocery shopping for years but we all know that by “exams” I mean “Game of Thrones”.
Am I sorry? Maybe.
Does this smoothie make me feel like I’m not that much of a failed attempt at an adult? Definitely.
